Terrazzo is a name used for a floor finish

Thanks to further developed techniques, the creative freedom of terrazzo is greater than that of marble floors. There can be varied with shapes and colors. As a result, the application has increasingly grown from a cheap terrace covering to a decorative one, such as the mosaics from ancient times.

In addition to floors, terrazzo is also used for countertops.

It is extremely impact and scratch resistant. The risk of breakage can be prevented by using reinforcing steel and by not using too thin strips in the design. The material remains somewhat porous, so that wine stains must be removed relatively quickly, for example. The so-called Venetian terrazzo is characterized by the use of large marble and natural stones. This shape is now also used in a modern variant.
